fuel poverty and financial exclusion

Fuel and utility bills account for a large amount of someone’s weekly spend.  Many people have been with the same fuel provider for years and many are confused by all of the tariffs on the market today.  As fuel bills are set to rise over the next few years we have committed ourselves to supporting people to make changes around the home to adapt to the rising bills rather than simply turn your central heating off and risk ill health.

As part of our work to reduce people’s outgoings we work with customers to help identify suitable energy tariffs and providers to help reduce your utility bills.  In some cases we can also link you into an organisation to help with any fuel efficiency grants to help you to make changes to your home to reduce your bills and promote healthier living.  This is a new programme and will be expanded upon during 2008/09.
